About

With over three decades of educational experience, including 25 years as adjunct faculty at the University of Hartford, I've developed a solid understanding of diverse learning needs. My academic background in education, with a Ph.D. in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Gratz College and two M.Ed. degrees in Special and Secondary Education, informs my holistic approach to learning and personal development. Currently, I’m expanding my skills in the MSW program at the University of Connecticut to offer even more support to those I work with.

At Northstar Achievement Pathways, I focus on enhancing both executive function and functioning skills. Executive function skills are the specific abilities we use to plan, organize, manage time, and regulate our emotions. These skills include setting goals, staying focused, and prioritizing tasks. Executive functioning skills, on the other hand, involve how we apply these abilities in our daily lives. It’s about using these skills effectively to handle real-life situations and challenges. Strengthening these skills is important because they form the foundation for successful learning and personal development. By improving these skills, individuals can better manage their responsibilities and adapt to new situations, leading to enhanced academic performance, professional success, and personal fulfillment.

My philosophy centers on providing tailored support and fostering independence. I work with learners of all ages who are ready to embrace positive change. For younger learners, I believe in early intervention to establish strong foundations. The ultimate goal is for each client to "graduate" with confidence.
